Our Story
Akasa Wish was born from a lifelong belief that jewelry can be so much more than something beautiful to wear. Across cultures and throughout history, people have worn jewelry to tell their stories, celebrate life's milestones, honours the people they cherish, carrying symbols of hope, protection, and love. I've always been inspired by the idea that a small object can hold such profound meaning—a symbol that quietly reminds us of who we are, what we value, and who we aspire to be.
At Akasa Wish, we believe in the transformative power of hope, intention, and manifestation. We believe that the hopes, dreams, and beliefs you hold in your heart—for yourself and for the world around you—have the power to shape your reality. About the Founder
For me, Akasa Wish is deeply personal. It brings together everything that has shaped my life—my heritage, my experiences, my love of creativity, and my belief in the power of hope and human connection.
Growing up in India, wearing traditional taviz (amulets) was simply part of everyday life worn for good fortune or protection. I was surrounded by a vibrant tapestry of colour, culture, craftsmanship, and tradition. Creativity wasn't something separate from life—it was woven into it. Exploration, curiosity, expansion and building meaningful connections was a way of life.
My family were traders and entrepreneurs, founding one of India's earliest export and manufacturing houses for clients around the world. Their passion for creating opportunities and building relationships across cultures inspired me from an early age. As a teenager, I started my first business, The Bombay Boxer Company, with an order from Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) to manufacture boxer shorts in southern India. For me, business is about much more than commerce. It is about bringing people together, exchanging ideas, bridging different cultures, and creating something meaningful through collaboration.
India gave me a deep awareness of life's contrasts. India is one of the world's largest economies, yet millions of people still rely on casual daily wages to support their families, with women making up a significant part of this workforce. Some of the people who have had the greatest influence on my life came from these circumstances. Yet, in my world they were titian's of life—people of immense generosity, resilience, wisdom, and dignity. They profoundly shaped the person I have become. Because of them, supporting meaningful employment and education is fundamental to everything I create. I intentionally choose to work with artisans and makers whenever possible because I believe craftsmanship creates opportunity, preserves tradition, and honours the value of human beings. While I cannot change the lives of millions, I hope to make a difference in the lives I can reach—not through charity alone, but by building a business rooted in purpose, shared prosperity, and the belief that every wishing pendant creates a positive motion of good will.
The idea for Akasa Wish came during one of the most transformative times of my life. While pregnant, I was preparing to leave Mumbai and begin a new chapter in Los Angeles. After years of working professionally, I was choosing to step into motherhood with intention while trying to manifest a creative outlet that would continue to inspire me.
It was a season filled with hope, anticipation, and love. Becoming a mother made me feel profoundly connected—to my children, to the people I cherish, to my past, and to something far greater than myself. I found myself reflecting on how our lives are intertwined across generations and continents, how the stories we inherit shape us, and how hope carries us forward into the future. In those quiet moments, everything I had experienced throughout my life seemed to come together.
Akasa Wish was born from those moments.
It is a celebration of hope, kindness, intention, creativity and connection—a way to honour the dreams we carry, the people we love, and the positive impact we can have on one another. I created Akasa Wish for my sons, the people I cherish and for everyone who needs a little hope to believe in their dreams—a reminder that even the smallest symbols can carry the greatest meaning.
